OUR HERD -oh deer!

The white-tailed deer population on the South Coast is growing out of control, and farmers and property owners are looking for solutions. Join Amy Thurber, founder of the advocacy group "Our Herd," to learn more about how to think like a deer, methods to manage the deer population, and ways to reduce damage to your gardens and crops.

Amy Thurber, is not only the founder of “Our Herd,” but an illustrator, arts educator and ceramic artist who founded Doves Foot Pottery, where she produces one-of-a-kind pottery from the garden, surrounded by an amazing variety of flora and fauna in her own yard. Here is an East Bay RI article about one of her talks on deer control. RI DEM created an excellent information booklet, “Reducing Deer Damage to Your Garden and Yard"
